The story
Afua Hirsch explores how young Nigerians are reinventing music, fashion and film, from Afrobeats to Nollywood. With producer Laura Spence I developed the episode from the first treatment, directed it over 19 days from Warri to Lagos, then cut it myself.
The challenge
Nineteen days to capture one of the most creative countries on earth. The job was going beyond the clichés and letting the people we met tell Nigeria's story in their own voices.
